We offer a diverse set of research and academic experiences that reflect the interdisciplinary nature of neuroscience. Eighty faculty from two campuses combine coursework and experiential learning in basic, clinical and translational science, providing an exceptionally broadly based education.
We also foster an atmosphere of collaboration between investigators, theorists and experimentalists, where students learn the value of a problem-oriented approach to research. Although the university is home to many high-profile faculty members, students will find them available. Guidance and mentorship are an integral part of the Columbia experience.
Located on two interconnected campuses in New York City- the medical school and the main Morningside Campus- Columbia’s proximity to other scientific institutions, such as the New York Academy of Science, offers endless opportunities to attend data clubs, lectures and symposia as well as to pursue research collaborations or learn new techniques.
We invite you to learn more about this program and find out why the Columbia University Doctoral Program in Neurobiology and Behavior is consistently ranked among the top ten neuroscience programs in US News and World Report.
