The Award for Education in Neuroscience has recognized individuals with outstanding contributions to research, education, and a distinguished career in neuroscience since 1991.
This award was for Principles of Neural Science, "the" text widely used for medical and graduate students in neural science, and was presented at the reception for the Association of Neuroscience Departments and Programs, at the SfN meeting in October 2009 to Thomas M. Jessell, PhD, Eric R. Kandel, MD and James H. Schwartz, MD, PhD. The ANDP has recently been reincorporated into the Society for Neuroscience.
